The latest Premier League matches of Manchester United has seen the team of Louis van Gaal clinching a 1-1 draw when playing against West Ham United and 3 days later when facing off with the basement relegation zone club Barnley they claimed a 3-1 triumph.

These have been fairly positive results as Manchester United sealed 4 points from these 2 matches which is a decent amount of points however; when you analyze how the squad of Louis van Gaal performed in both matches it’s a completely different story.

When Manchester United faced off with West Ham United on February 8, a late goal from Daley Blind was the only reason on how they managed on snatching the draw. Even with all of the talented attacking players that play for Manchester United which include the likes of: Angel Di Maria, Falcao, Van Persie, and Rooney. The only goal that Louis van Gaal’s squad scored came at the very last minute of the match through the likes of Daley Blind.

The performance of Louis van Gaal’s team was even worse when they played against Burnley as they won the match with a scoreboard of 3-1 but all of the goals were scored from set-pieces as the players struggled trying get past the defence of a squad that is located in the bottom relegation zone after having conceded 43 goals in 25 matches.

Even the former player of Manchester United, Paul Scholes who made over 450 appearances for the red devils of England has critiqued the playing style that Louis van Gaal has been implementing in the club during their recent matches.

“At times, United’s football is miserable. To beat opposing teams you have to attack, and to attack you have to take risks. Too few of the players in the current team are prepared to take those risks.”

“It does not give me any pleasure to say that at the moment I am struggling to watch Louis van Gaal’s team with any great enjoyment. They beat Burnley on Wednesday night but it was Burnley who had by far the best of the first half.” Former Manchester United player, Paul Scholes said as he expressed his disgust concerning how his previous team is currently performing in.
