UNITED READY TO SIGN PLAYERS IN JANUARY

Manchester United are ready to sign players in the winter window following the result from the clash with city rivals led by Pep Guardiola, as per reports. The Glazer family are reportedly set to sanction a transfer purse of at least £100 million.

United coach Jose Mourinho has been vocal about the Red Devils splashing the cash to get top rated talents like other top European sides. While he says he would use to the best abilities the talents under him, he wants players with higher quality to help him achieve the club’s mission.

The City game revealed that United were nowhere close to their major rivals in England. The Cityzens totally outclassed United, defeating them3-1 and avoiding a second home defeat after the Red Devils spoiled their early league title win last season.

Mourinho wanted a centre back but the Glazer family did not back his move. They reportedly queried that the Portuguese had bought two centre backs since taking over, yet he wanted to add another. They pushed that Mourinho use Eric Baily and Victor Lindelof that he acquired rather than add another in such a short while.

United were linked to Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld, going on to inquire about the Belgian ahead of a purported move. However, Tottenham turned down the advances, especially as they had limited funds due to their stadium construction. Others linked to Old Trafford include Harry Maguire, Diego Godin and Jerome Boateng but none happened at the end.

United would now try to add a top defender in January when the window opens. There are others like Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling. Mourinho might need to let one go during the summer if the new signing ticks as expected.

The Glazers’ were forced following continued grievance from the fans aside the internal pressure. They feel Mou has not been making the best of transfer signings. Fred that joined this summer has been struggling for game time, and is reportedly disgruntled already. There are reports that he complained bitterly to compatriot Fernandinho about the happenings at his camp.

Lee Grant has barely featured except the Carabao Cup against Derby. For DiagoDalot, he is yet to be integrated into the setup.
