Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has given a special praise to Jose Mourinho while writing a piece in the Player’s Tribune.
The Netherlands international made a name for himself in the Premier League with Chelsea between 2004 and 2007 where he was managed by the Special One.
Robben has since moved on to Real Madrid, followed by Bayern Munich, where he has enjoyed nine successful seasons. In a report covered by The Mirror, the 33-year-old suggests that Mourinho expects a lot from his players which means that you have to be tougher, stronger and faster.
In a letter to his 16-year-old himself, Robben wrote: “Maybe when the end of your career becomes more and more of a reality. You start thinking about the beginning. When it stopped being just a game. That happened. When you arrived to Groningen. And Groningen will be an opportunity that will take you to PSV, and then PSV will take you to Chelsea. At 20 years old, you’ll be in the Premier League. And your boss? His name is José Mourinho. I should prepare you. Because he will expect a lot of you… and of everyone. Right away, you’ll feel the difference in playing for a Premier League club. You’ll need to be tougher, stronger, faster.” Continue reading Arjen Robben leaves special praise for Jose Mourinho
Brian Irvine says he was shocked the day Sir Alex Ferguson left Aberdeen for Manchester United.
He said he would never forget that day as the feeling at Pittodrie was that of massive loss. He led them for eight years and was set for greater success at Old Trafford.
Irvine, who lifted the 1990 Scottish Cup, is sad to see that another manager with the best win ratio since Ferguson is set to leave again. Derek McInnes has reportedly left the Granite City to lead Sunderland from the ruins of relegation to the Championship.
“The news then quickly broke that he was going to Manchester United and I was in shock. He signed me, he was the man I looked up to, so it was a big, big disappointment for me,” Irvine said.
“Like it was then for Aberdeen with Fergie, it will be very hard too for the current board to replace Derek McInnes,” he added. He said Ian Porterfield was a good manager but the shoes of Ferguson were to large to be filled. He cited the retirement of Ferguson at United as another example. He said the Red Devils struggled to replace him until they got Jose Mourinho. Continue reading IRVINE WAS SHOCKED WHEN FERGUSON LEFT ABERDEEN
Manchester United are set to clash with Manchester City in a much awaited derby in the Premier League as teams scamper for the remaining points before the season closes.
United have struggled with matching expectations under Jose Mourinho but the Portuguese manager opines that better years lie ahead.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup weeks back and they have qualified for the last four as they remain in the race for a Europa League title. They are pushing for a top four finish despite the odds, yet many would say they had an underwhelming season, particularly based on the feels when the season started.
United are set to play Pep Guardiola’s men on Thursday and a victory could see them move into the top fourspot. Mourinho has tried to take the pressure off him and the team by saying he does not care much about titles at this stage. The former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid coach said his focus is on building a strong side.
“It can be the first season of better years. And the reality is even in the first season of better years we won already and we have already the chance to do good things until the end of the season. Continue reading MOURINHO: BETTER YEARS TO COME
Former Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has admitted losing the joy of football while he was at Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal was dismissed from Stretford End in 23 May, 2016 and within 72 hours replaced with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
The self acclaimed Special One – or is it Happy One? – has of recent come under series of attacks from fans and trolls alike for his team’s poor start to the 2016/2017 Premier League season – their worst ever in the Premier League era).
Manchester united midfielder Marouane Fellaini offered some comparison with Louis and Jose’s managerial styles:
“Louis van Gaal is stricter. Mourinho is strict, but not like Van Gaal,” said the Belgian international.
“It is funnier with Mourinho, the training changes all the time. It is not a routine. Van Gaal had his philosophy and he was strict but he was very different.” he added.
Fellaini however believes that Mourinho is the right man to take the Red Devils back to the perch Sir Alex Ferguson worked so hard to knock Liverpool off and place Manchester United on.
“I think Mourinho is the right manager. He has a lot of experience and he knows what he can do but you have to give him time as well so I’m sure the victories will come.” Continue reading MAROUANE FELLAINI BACKS MOURINHO
Keith Heckett reckons the Football Association hasn’t helped itself or Anthony Taylor by sending the latter to referee at Merseyside this weekend.
The issue is that Manchester is the place of Taylor’s birth and it’s the place he has been at all his life so far and it’s pretty rare for an out and out Manchester lad, especially the one who has grown up through the nineties as Taylor has, not to be connected with United at heart.
Even Taylor’s house is situated only at a 5 or 10-minute drive from the home ground of United. So, for all these reasons, Liverpool faithful feel that their arch rivals visiting them in the weekend are already at advantage as they will have one of their own presiding over the match in the form of Taylor.
As per Heckett, now that people have developed a perception about Taylor, he would be scrutinized at every second of the match and he can’t afford even one little mistake anywhere, otherwise it will straightaway be linked to his emotional closeness to the visiting side
